The Mues' hosted this months Family BBQ on the 19th of July. Here a few photo's of the evening.

The 2008 Talent and Desserts Show was held on April 4 at the Gering Baptist Church. Several students showcased their special skills and projects to a packed house.

We have another successful semester of Cooperative Classes, with lots of new faces joining us. A variety of classes are offered again this semester.

The WNHEN Holiday Gathering was rescheduled after a December snowstorm. We all got together in January, and though many were missing, enoyed our time together.

The Western Nebraska Home Educators Network was founded in February of 2004 by Bruce & Virginia Mues, Donie Mauler and Carol Grow. It was placed on the founders hearts to create a homeschool network in Western Nebraska that is family oriented, open minded, member driven, and grace based. WNHEN exists to support homeschooling families with educational opportunities that enhance their homeschool experience and to do this with respect, compassion and tolerance toward one another. WNHEN's ministry is to serve ALL homeschooling families or families considering homeschooling regardless of their reasons for homeschooling, religious beliefs or political affiliations.

The WNHEN Astronomy Class held a Solar Observation Day on October 31, 2007 at the Gering Baptist Church.

Members of WNHEN enjoyed a wonderful day filled with a hay ride from the Vinton's home down to Hawk Springs Reservoir and back along with a Hay Maze and food, friends and great conversation.

The WNHEN Geocaching Class has enjoyed using high tech GPS units to seek out treasures hidden in our community. There are over 100 geocaches with a 5 mile radius of the Gering Baptist Church for the class to find. The class is being taught this year by Virginia Mues.

The Western Nebraska Home Educators Network fall cooperative classes run from September 24 to November 19, 2007. Classes are held on Mondays at the Gering Baptist Church. Several interesting classes are being taught this semester including Astronomy, Sign Language, Guitar Class, Dance, Band, Choir and much more.

This was the first year to offer summer classes. The classes meet for six weeks. Some of the classes offered were chalk and bubbles, frisbee games, rocketry, student council, body and preschool.
